Bottle cleaners – What you need to know
Until recently, it was necessary to sterilize bottles with external sterilizers, or in the microwave or with sterilizing tablets and/or liquids, but now it is not so obvious that it is essential. Of course, sterilizers do the job of cleaning bottles in a few minutes, but we can also use manual bottle cleaners.
In any case, whether you opt for sterilization or manual cleaning, it must be done with quality accessories that ensure proper cleaning. In no case is it advisable to leave bottles with milk residue in the sink and proceed to clean them later.
Electric sterilizer
Electric sterilizers allow you to introduce several bottles at the same time. The one we show you takes 2 minutes to sterilize and turns off automatically when the cycle ends. They have the advantage that you can introduce not only bottles, but also breast pumps, teats, pacifiers or teethers and no chemical additive is necessary.
Bottle cleaners
Cleaning bottles with brushes should be done as follows:
- We rinse the bottle well if the baby has not finished all the content
- They will be washed with warm/hot water and dish detergent using a brush to clean it well and thoroughly.
- Then it is necessary to rinse it very well so that there are no traces of detergent.
- Used kitchen rags should never be used to dry them. It is convenient to dry them in the air or with disposable cloths.
- Do not forget that the bottle must be completely dry before using it again.
This type of brush has the peculiarity that its base allows it to remain in a vertical position and includes a handle for the bottle’s nipple.
Drying kit – Drain bottles
There are drying kits to deposit bottles and teats like this example that we show you below. In this way, after using the bottle cleaner, we can deposit all the bottles, teats, etc. that we have cleaned in them.
