Plants in the baby’s room, yes or no?

The eternal debate in declining the balance between whether plants are suitable for the baby’s room or not is present.

Plants are synonymous with well-being at home, but not all spices are equally recommended, nor do all rooms easily accept the idea of decorating them with them.

The first thing to keep in mind is that the consumption of oxygen by plants does not constitute any risk to health. The part of oxygen that it absorbs is minimal, but instead, during the day they provide oxygen becoming natural air purifiers.

Benefits of plants in the room

The presence of plants has a relaxing effect. Whether for their beauty or freshness, they help reduce stress and improve mood. Adding the purifying character, they are recommended for children’s rooms.

Feng-Shui tells us that it is a good idea to place a small plant near the door of the baby’s room, in order to separate the rooms.

Therefore, there are many advantages of decorating the room of the little ones with decorative and colorful plants, although without forgetting certain particularities that we will see below.

Peculiarities to take into account

If we decide to have plants in the children’s room, we must act responsibly so that they are positive in decoration but also in education. The plants should not be within the reach of babies, so it is preferable to have small-sized so that they can always be placed away from the baby’s access. This really applies to both your room and the rest of the house.

Not all species are equally recommended. Aromatic species are especially relaxing, an example of which is lavender or rosemary. Others that are not aromatic, but help calm the body and mind, such as jasmine or gardenias. Another highly recommended plant would be aloe vera, since it emits oxygen at night while taking in carbon dioxide.

On the other hand, there are toxic plants that we should never put in the children’s room, such as pothos, since their leaves are toxic. Mistletoe and holly are typical Christmas plants that we should not put in the children’s room, nor should we put azaleas or ficus.
